Mud boy…

July3

This is what happens when you wait a few minutes too long to bring your son home from playing for the day and you still have new construction going on in your subdivision:

Yep, that’s a shoe, 1 SHOE, you might ask where the other one was, stuck in the mud, my hubby had to retrieve it and when I saw my son walking down the sidewalk making footprint trails I couldn’t help but laugh out loud even though I really wanted to ask what the heck was he thinking! I’m sure each shoe must have weighed about 2 lbs each!

Oh those big, brown eyes can melt my heart and help him get away with anything!

Hubby literally had to hose him down and than we spent the next hour cleaning up!

Gotta love boys, definately one for the scrapbooks.

Whew…what a week!!!

July2

It’s been one crazy, fast week here!

We spent last Friday with the kid’s finishing school than we spent Saturday & Sunday looking at houses, Sunday we went to Calaway Park for a bit in between looking at a house, than Sunday we wrote our 2nd offer on a house…Sunday night we have an accepted offer. I just found out today that we have CMHC approval so now all that’s left is the house inspection…yippee. We have a very quick possession…July 16th, which is OK because we get to move in over 2 weeks since our lease is done July 31st (the house is vacant). So everything has moved very quickly. My hubby has been out of town alot for work & now the kid’s are off for Summer so it’s been comical to say the least! We are staying in Airdrie though which is awesome & in the same school zone.

Tuesday we went and saw Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, good movie, entertaining that’s for sure but LONG, whatever happened to movies only being 90 minutes long although with the price it costs to go to a movie I guess I shouldn’t complain!

Than yesterday was Canada Day so we went to the Canada Day parade here in Airdrie, lots of fun, than we came home to start organizing and get stuff ready for donating, selling & throwing out, than we went to the fireworks here in Airdrie, they didn’t start till 10:40PM though because it takes soooooo long for it to be dark enough (and it still wasn’t completely dark at this time), so by the time we got home it was quite late even though the fireworks were only about 10 mins long (disappointing actually), and I am paying the price today with a brat son!

So that’s the exciting news I have to share, well I have some stuff to do than Saturday we are off for some fun at the Calgary Stampede…YAHOO!!!

Mojo Monday Week 93…

June30

It’s been a long, long time since I have participated in a Mojo Monday challenge, I have had Fairy Chloe colored in for a very long time, just sitting there waiting to make her way onto a card.

So here is my card for Mojo Monday Week 93:

I was very productive yesterday!!!

Teacher gifts…

June26

My how quickly the end of school creeps up on you when you aren’t paying attention, it dawned on me Tuesday that I needed teacher gifts, so I spent Wednesday working my a** off to make some teacher gifts for my kid’s to give to their teachers.

3×3 card tote, isn’t it “sweet?” Tutorial can be found here.

3×3 cards to fit in the tote, I made 24 (a little bit of a pain because I colored the flowers in each time to stamp with Stampin’ Up! markers), I made 3 totes with 8 cards in each with envelopes. Totally cased from a SU demo named Sandra who included a lovely card in my bag when she returned some cardstock to me. So thanks Sandra for the inspiration!

Gift card holder (Starbuck’s). I’m sorry I don’t know who to give credit for this quick & easy gift card holder, I saved it to my computer & for some reason didn’t write down who did it…so if it’s you…please leave me a comment. Thanks!

Inside.

I made 4 of these with matching envelopes for teachers, totally cased from Lisa, click here to see her gorgeous card.

Card with matching envelope. I stayed up till Midnight on Wednesday to make sure these cards were done so the kid’s could write them out Thurs AM.

Well school will be officially over at Noon today & than the craziness begins!

I hope you & your family enjoy your Summer holiday’s. I’m sure ours will be memorable!

Butterfly inspiration…

June21

These canvas’s took forever to complete for some reason, I painted them in the Fall, than they sat in my scrapbook room for month’s, than I saw Amy’s post here & I fell in love with what she did, so I said that’s what I’m going to do with mine & also add some inspiration that my family can look at everytime they come downstairs to start their day. The quote is from Winston Churchill, the butterflies were stamped in Versamark on Stampin’ Up! cardstock, than embossed with Stampin’ Up! detail black embossing powder than hand cut over a few days (I still have some left). I still want to paint on some Shimmerz but, I’m waiting for my order, so that’s something I can do anytime.

Some other stuff, my son lost his 2nd tooth on Tuesday very exciting.

and I’m reading a new series of books by Kristin Billerbeck, I’m currently on the 2nd book of her “Spa Girl Series”, she has a couple of series of books, quite good, funny, & light humour…an easy read. I picked them up at Chapters downtown Vancouver for $3.49 EACH, I love a sweet deal.

We are heading out to my inlaws shortly for Father’s Day dinner with our whole family. I hope whatever you are doing you are celebrating the fabulous men in your lives & are enjoying your blessed day.

Mom’s Day 12×12 Layout…

June14

Here is a layout that I almost finished when I was away at the Scrapbook Your Heart Retreat, all I had to do was put a title on it & it took me 3 weeks to do that!

This layout was actually a “kit” that I won at the retreat too!

Now what would a post be without some more pics!

Today we spent 5 1/2 hours at the soccer fields for a tournament, now soccer is all finished…yippee!

My hubby (coach) & our son at the end of the day. This was my hubby’s first time coaching soccer or anything for that matter & I think he did a wonderful job!

My son with his medal…he {hearts} his medal.

A week in pictures, starting with a wedding…

June13

Hello everyone! OK, so here is the truth down & dirty!!! I’m probably not going to get alot of scrapbooking or cardmarking done this summer, I can already see myself not being very productive, I have alot going on this summer & so I think I’m just going to back off blogging for the summer, I might posts pics every once in a while or say Hi! to say that I am indeed around still but, other than than please don’t “expect” anything else from me! I hope you will still come & visit & that you don’t unsubscribe from my subscription (I mean it doesn’t take any room to keep me does it???), and truth be told I seem to have misplaced my mojo & I’m having a heck of a time locating it again, I don’t even feel like “shopping”…sick eh!!!

So on that note here are some pics I’ve taken this week.

Last weekend I flew to Vancouver for a friend’s wedding, I have known Liz & her 2 sisters for a very, very long time, Liz is the youngest of the 3 but only by 363 days!

I stayed with my best friend Kara & we went to the Reception on Saturday at the church & than drove downtown Vancouver for the Reception at the Vancouver Law Courts, we had about 3 1/2 hours to “waste”, so we had lunch at Red Robins on the patio on Robson Street & chatted, than we strolled Robson Street (just like the good ol’ days!), it is crazy, busy down there, too much for me now!

The beautiful bride with her Dad & Mom.

Gorgeous dress.

The vows.

The happy couple.

Table setting using the bride’s color theme.

The wedding cake.

Liz & Mark’s signature drink (and let me tell you it was “strong”)!!!

Candle centrepieces.

The wedding party table.

Wedding favors.

Appetizer accompanied by a portuguese bun.

I could only eat 2 pieces of this lovely steak (beacause I didn’t take a pic of the meal before this one which was pasta & seafood).

Wedding cake & fruit, the meal was absolutely delicious but, overwhelming, sooooooo much food!

Wedding party on bride’s side.

Gorgeous Liz.

2 Portuguese families = 1 big wedding & party with lots of food, booze & dancing!

The wedding was absolutely amazing, from the ceremoney to the reception, every last detail was thought of.

Liz and her husband celebrate her 35th birthday today by heading off to the Mediterranean for their honeymoon…have fun guys!

Isn’t this the craziest car you have ever seen, this was parked on Robson Street and was quite the tourist attraction.

A week in pictures, kid’s & stuff…

June13

After I got home from the wedding I swung right back into “family mode”, it’s been a busy week having fun, enjoying the weather & just enjoying my time with the kid’s.

On Wednesday we packed up a picnic & spent the afternoon at the park with some friends.

My son loves his Monster Jam Truck hat.

My son says “I’m going to kick you Mommy!” so you don’t take my picture, such a nice, sweet boy!!!

but, than he gives me this.

and this.

Than I took the kid’s to see Night at the Museum, it was OK, liked the first one better, my son could care less about watching this movie!!! but, he made it through.

My kid’s have been totally infatuated with a whole lotta caterpillar’s they found earlier in the week, so they have been finding them crawling around everywhere, picking them up, putting them in a jar, taking care of them, & they have been going EVERYWHERE with us, I do mean everywhere, but, at night they do stay outside!

Kinda “creepy” looking actually…ewwwwww

Yesterday was sports day & the official grand opening of my kid’s school playground, it’s taken 2 years, lots of fundraising & volunteers to get this playground up & running & lotsa money, the playground is worth about $250,000, crazy eh?

Potato sack races.

The limbo.

My son’s “fauxhawk!”

Eating watermelon, my son manged to eat 9 slices!

Crazy slide.

This playground is fun indeed, includes a rock climbing wall, teeter totter, rolling slides, sliding monkey bars & it’s on recycled tire rubber.

The kid’s had a blast, they had 16 “stations” for the kid’s to particpate in including bouncy jumpers & a food station.

Well if you have made it this far, looking thru all my pics know that I will be back tomorrow with a 2 page 12×12 layout!

Enjoy your day, it’s going to be gorgeous here!
