The Shack…

The Shack Book (click link)

I’m sure alot of us out in the World have a lot of questions: WHY? WHY? and WHY?

Why do bad things happen, I know I certainly do, I’m constantly questioning and asking WHY?

I’m not sure if this booked helped me, I’m still uncertain but, being able to forgive for certain things that’s pretty huge, have I learned how to forgive? not sure yet…maybe this book has helped me, maybe I’ll be walking down that path in the near future.

Change of Heart…

I went to bed really, really early last night, the kid’s were absolutely horrible yesterday I’m saying due to lack of sleep the night before so I just crawled into bed and finished reading my book, it was sooo good, I think this is one of my favorites so far.

Here is a synopsis of the book.

The Tenth Circle…

A good read like all of her books, it was full of suspense, I wanted to keep reading to find out…the end! I could have done without the comics at the end of each chapter, it was one of the main character’s occupation & I felt the ending kind of left me “hanging”, I wanted more!

Here is a link to the synopsis.

The Last Summer (of You & Me)…

This book was such a great read, an easy read, but, so enjoyable, I just “love” love stories! I think this was one of the quickest books I’ve read lately, I just couldn’t put it down. This book was in the coolor of summer goodies we won last week at the kid’s 50’s school dance.

Well, I don’t have anything creative to post as I ran out of time this week, with kid’s off school the whole week & shortly I leave for Vancouver for a girl’s weekend with my best gal pal’s, I just plain ol’ ran out of time!

I’m hoping to get something done when I return Sunday as there are some challenges I’d like to work on.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

The Last Lecture…

I finished reading this book last week. A really, great book. A book about “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams.”

The Last Lecture website can be found here. Randy Pausch’s website can be found here.

“It’s not about living your childhood dreams, it’s about HOW you lead your life, if you lead your life the right way, the karma will take care of itself, the dreams will come to you.”  – Randy Pausch

Sadly, Randy lost his battle to pancreatic cancer on July 25th, 2008.

November 3

For one more day…

Another great book by Mitch Albom. This book was also made into a movie by Oprah Winfrey, it was good too!

Sorry, that’s all I have right now. I’m still sick, I’m on my 5th box of kleenex in 3 days & my head & sinuses feel like they have been hit by a train! but, at least my daughter is feeling better after throwing up on Halloween & into the next day (she didn’t get to go trick or treating) & than she spent 2 whole days in bed & still was quiet yesterday.

Hopefully I’ll be back soon with something good!!

September 30

A book & a movie…

I went to see The Women last night with Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Eva Mendes, Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett Smith & a whole bunch more, it was a great chick flick, not ONE SINGLE MAN in this movie! & of course I think Meg Ryan is sooo sweet!

I finished up another book last night: Second Calling (finding passion, & purpose for the rest of your life)

My hubby found this book at Chapters for me for less than $5 & it’s hardcover, he thought it would be good for me because I have always wondered what exactly my purpose is. What am I destined to be “great” at?  My son will be in Grade 1 next year, that means that I will have ALOT more free time to do what I want, for me this doesn’t mean staying at home. When we decided to start a family it was very important to me that I become a Stay at Home Mom until both my kid’s were in school full-time, I have been a Stay at Home Mom for almost 9 years & I wouldn’t trade it for anything but, when the school year approaches next year I want to be somewhat prepared for what I want to do, & my schedule will still have to be somewhat flexible because I will still be picking & dropping my kid’s at school & running them to classes & events.

This book is about how to live the 2nd part of your life with passion & purpose & making the 2nd part of your life the best ever. The book is really geared to 40-50 year olds but, I was able to get alot from this book, well worth the read.

August 17

Breaking Dawn…

I did IT!!! I finally finished reading Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer last night, my hubby took the kid’s camping yesterday so it was the perfect time to finish some unfinished business!

Now back to the book, it was good, some parts were a little drawn out in my opinion, I don’t think it was the best of the 4 books in the series, but, overall I was happy with it & I was happy with the ending, so if you haven’t read it yet, go have a read! You can pickup the hardover here in Calgary at Costco for $13.99.

Now we just have 95 days for the release of the movie Twilight, I sure hope it’s good. I’ve actually never seen a movie that has been made after I have read the books well except for Harry Potter’s 6th & 7th books…so who’s going to the movie with me?
