Moving day…

Moving TruckMoving Truck Side view

came and went, tonight will be the 3rd night sleeping in our new home. Moving day went pretty good, but leading up to it was crazy busy…it always seems to take us FOREVER to move and that’s after “downsizing”. We had a 26 foot moving truck and we still managed to use our truck for about another 20 or more loads. The kids were pretty good with a couple of mishaps, Jaiden has been really sick though with a nasty cold / cough. Taylor was finished her’s by the time we were moving and I’ve had a sore throat for 4-5 days. Taylor seems to be adjusting well, Jaiden on the other hand is taking a bit longer to adjust. Billy finished cleaning up the old place tonight (shampooing the rugs), so now we are officially done with the old house…yeah! I think we are about 60-70% settled in our new home, the most important rooms are taken care of with the exception of my Stamp Room – I have not even begun to conquer that mess in our unfinished basement, if anyone has any wonderful ideas on how to set up your craft room in an unfinished basement I would love to hear it, I need some really creative ideas in order for me to WANT to go down “there” to create! Tonight was low key for me finally, caught up on all my blog reading while eating Frozen Moccachino Yogurt out of the tub! while Billy set up the big screen. We really love our new house…big, bright and more up to date than our townhouse.

I hope to be set up and creating again in a couple of weeks…stay tuned!

For fun I put theĀ pics of our 26 foot moving truck (the biggest you can go), for some reason I am always the one that gets to pick up the truck and drive it home! At least this time it was an automatic…a little less stressful!

Glad to hear your move went well. It’s so nice to be in an updated space. As for the unfinished basement, I really do’nt have any ideas for you, sorry. Obviously I would try to put down something on the floor – like a throw carpet or at least something that covers the cement. Book shelves would be nice, or maybe some cork board that you can stick stuff to. Lots of extra lighting might make the space more inviting as well – lamps galore spaced around the room so the lighting is subtle (as in not too harsh) but still bright. If there is a window I would dress it a bit to make it more homey.
