Yesterday we went to Kernels Corn Maze for Family Fun Day, it is about 1 hour North of us in Olds, AB, we had fun trying to find our way thru the maze, we were suppose to locate 6 scarecrows, well we only found 1! It was a gorgeous day here yesterday, the only thing that sucked was there were ALOT of bugs…eck! We had to come home & have showers to make sure we didn’t have any bugs living in our hair! Here is a link to Kernels Corn Maze.

My daughter started a cold on Saturday & I actually asked her if she would like to postpone our Family Day after coming home yesterday AM from going to a few garage sales with her Dad & not looking so good, but, of course she didn’t want to, I should have made all of us stay home…she wasn’t feeling so great last night & so today she is home sick, so I made her some wholemade Chicken Soup & I’m making her get lots of rest…well I must run to pick up my son soon & take care of the sick!!!!
See ya soon!
Last night my friend Cookie had her just for fun stamp night, we try to get together once a month. The first card is the one that she created for us to make using Q.T Hooty Owl found here and the second card is the one that I created for us to make, look at all that yummy bling! The snowflake hanging is one of those mini snowflake tree ornaments from Michael’s (a bag of 10 for $2.29 CAD), I love how this card turned out & it also looks good this way or the other way with the sentiment going vertical & they are sooo quick, easy & fun to make.

Look at all that yummy glitter!
Enjoy & thanks for visiting, even though I haven’t been posting anything crafty I am hard at work, I am currently working on Christmas cards for the Canadian Troops & pretty soon I better start working on Halloween treat bags for my kid’s (45-50 of them!).

I finished reading this book yesterday (my 4th by Picoult), good book, but, geez…tragic twist of events. Here is a link to the book’s synopsis.

Yesterday evening we went over to my in-laws to have a BBQ dinner with family to celebrate our son’s 5th birthday - the kid’s had a great time, the food was yummy & of course it was very LOUD! Here are some pics that I took yesterday.

My kid’s are very unique in the way they look, my daughter is this blue-eyed, red hair, pale skin, freckle beauty…

and my son has these big, brown eyes with brown hair & darker skin.

Mr. Monkey…need I say more?

A chocolate Ratatouille cake.

Cleaning Ratatouille’s bum! (I know grosse! but, somebody had to do it)!

Thursday afternoon (my son’s actual birthday) we took the kid’s to Chuck E. Cheese’s for some afternoon fun, well I just love this pic of him “charging” to the fun!

He insisted on keeping his tickets in his pocket!

Lantern in in-laws backyard.

Our wedding rings.

My daughter attended a class at our local Scrapbook Store called Our Corner Friday afternoon & made this fantastic Mosaic Mirror.

Pink Butterfly in my daughter’s room from Scribble It.
Today is our son’s 5th birthday & his first day of Kindergarten. How exciting, oh where has the time gone? He is such a friendly, outgoing boy…how we love him so.

I love this pic…he is saying “No Mom, please no more pictures!”

Well we are off to take the kid’s for some birthday fun in a while than we will celebrate on Saturday at Grandma & Grandpa’s & have some yummy birthday cake.
I’m still working on SU’s Scallop Note Cards (last year’s colors), after this bunch I now only have 10 more! Yipee!!! I will probably do the same thing with the last ones.
Every school year I put notes of encouragement, notes of love, notes of joy, notes of inspiration, etc into my daughter’s lunch bag (this year I will be adding cute, funny ones to my son’s), this year I was searching around for ideas on something a little more “meaningful”, so I came up with these…not for my daughter’s lunch because she is not quite old enough to understand these ones but, I thought they would be great for other’s.
I cut the card’s in half than used SU’s scallop border punch to scallop punch the other side of the note card. I used SU’s “Define Your Life” stamp set, used my Copic Marker to color in the flowers & that’s about it…I hope these inspire you.

Along with the start of school comes the Fall TV Schedule, here is a link in PDF format to with all the show’s start up dates for September & October, thank goodness I now have a PVR!
Chocolate Bran Muffins (Makes 24 Muffins at 1 Point each or make 8 mini loaves at 3 points each)
3 cups All Bran Cereal
2 1/2 cups warm water
1 package of Low Fat Brownie Mix
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1. Soak the cereal and water together for a few minutes.
2. Add remaining ingredients & mix together.
3. Spray muffing tins with Pam. Bake at 350F for 20-25 minutes.

This is an old WW recipe, I cannot believe I haven’t shared it yet! It’s a great way to get some bran in your diet & at the same time it tastes yummy!
Wonton Soup (not my recipe - from an old friend)
1 package of Wonton Wrappers
1 lb Lean Ground Pork
2 tsp brown sugar
2 tbsp rice wine or vinegar
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp green onions
2 tsp ginger root
1/2 tsp Chinese 5 Spice
1 egg
1/2 tsp Sesame Oil
Bit-O-White-Pepper
1. Mix all ingredients & let sit for 25 minutes or overnight
2. To make Wontons fill with 1/2-1 tsp of filling per Wonton, put in middle of wrapper & fold over like a triangle using water on your finger as a “glue”
3. Bring 2 cans of Chicken Broth to a boil, add peas, wontons, green onions, ginger & sesame oil, adjust the chicken broth to how many wontons you put in, cook 5-10 minutes until the wonton is wrinkly & slimy!
I used just over 1 lb of lean ground pork & I stopped filling wontons about 1/2 way thru (very tedious & 1 hr later)! I than freezed remaining mixture in a Ziploc baggie for next time. I than cooked how many Wontons I needed & left the other Wontons on the cookie sheet & stuck them in the freezer on parchment paper, once they are frozen stick them in a Ziploc baggie & freeze & than you can pull them out & cook from frozen.
They may look grosse! but, they are yummy & much better for you than buying them already made.
Once you have the Wontons made ahead of time you can pull them out of the freezer for lunch or dinner in a zip!

Well today is the first day of school for my kidlets, they were very excited! My daughter is starting Grade 3 at a brand new school, the first time in 3 years, so it is a big change & my son is starting Kindergarten which he is very excited about, I don’t think he understands that he is going to the same school as his sister! Now if we were still living in Calgary we would have started school the middle of August & this year we are starting school almost a whole hour earlier! & a new school division, so we are learning lots!
So it’s been a crazy, hectic AM full of emotion but, all is well.
Here are some pics!

One thing I love about this school is that they have inspirational quotes, pictures & murals thru out the school…very fun!
