Thankfulness…

Posted in Family, Quotes

Thankfulness is being grateful for what we have. It is an attitude of gratitude for learning, loving and being. Appreciate the little things that happen around you and within you every day. Think positively. Thankfulness brings contentment.

You are practicing thankfulness when you:

  • Are thankful for the gifts of life.
  • Appreciate your own abilities instead of envying others.
  • See the difficulties of life as opportunities to learn.
  • Enjoy your sense of wonder about the beauty in the world.
  • Are willing to receive what others want to give.
  • Count your blessings every day.

Affirmation:

I am thankful for the many gifts within me and around me today. I appreciate my life. I look for the lessons I expect the best.

I found this Virtue of the Week in my local heresthescoop.com issue & it came at a very much needed time. This Virtue of the Week came from www.virtuesproject.com. Everyday I try to teach my kid’s how important it is to be thankful for what we have been blessed with. This is one area that is very, very important to me. Every single day I count my blessings & thank GOD for them.

We are coming into a very busy time of the year & this year I want to share the true meaning of Christmas with my kid’s, not the commercialized Christmas but, the spiritual Christmas that is very near to my heart but, has taken a spot on the back burner for the last decade. I want my kid’s to understand that Christmas is a very special time of year and I want to bring back those Family traditions that we once shared a long time ago.

Penny Black Warm & Cold…

I am in love, love with this Snowman! He is soooo stinkin’ adorable! I saw Dawn’s card found here & I knew I had to get him, I had to order it in from our local stamp store here so it took a bit but, well worth the wait! The snowflakes on the paper have glitter on them, I used Liquid Applique & while wet & sprinkled glitter over it & used my heat gun to puff it up, I made 4 of them & used different embellishments on each card - love, love these!

Tuesdays with Morrie…

Tuesdays with Morrie is a fabulous read, it’s not just about a man dying, it’s about life’s lessons & what really matters in life. A lot to be learned. I love Mitch Albom’s style of writing.

Bumbleberry Cobbler…

Posted in Recipes

I baked again on Monday…yes, we all know what that means. **SIGH**

We served it with DQ Soft Serve ice cream. It is really, really yummy, but, I would use less than 1/2 cup of sugar in the berry mix.

You can find the recipe here at my friend Bobbi’s blog, just scroll down a bit thru the post for the recipe.

Christmas cards for our Troops & a Happy Birthday!!!

About 8 ladies in our Stamping group made Christmas cards for the Canadian Troops, we could either write a little message inside & send them to them or send blank cards that they could use for sending Christmas cards out - this is what I decided to do. Between the 8 of us we probably made about 575 Christmas Cards to send out. I made 54 of them.

Today is my husband’s birthday. So tonight I made him one of his favorite dinners - Mediterranean Chicken Linguine - it is yummy! & we bought him a Chocolate Ganache cake - he loves, loves chocolate, so this cake was perfect for him - it was way too much for me. Our kid’s decorated the house with streamers & balloons!

Halloween Glitter Treat Bags…

Posted in Papercrafts

The instant I saw Pine’s (Heather Nichols) post found here I knew it was what I wanted to do for my kid’s class Halloween treat bag’s, I finished them up yesterday afternoon with help from everyone…54 of them. I just love Heather’s style & everything she creates just inspires me, thanks for sharing your talent with us Heather!

I tried to make 1/2 of them girly & 1/2 of they for boys. Oh the fun I had with the glitter, I had to vacuum again this AM to pick up some more glitter!

Some random pictures…

Posted in Family, Pictures

More pictures, I know my loyal readers are getting bored with just pictures, but, I haven’t been doing alot of crafting, etc, I have alot of personal stuff going on that just hasn’t allowed me the time to let my “pent” up creative juices flow regularly, I do have alot of projects on the go but, I just haven’t completed them yet! They are all in different stages of completion.

Thanks for being patient!

My daughter took this self portrait of herself.
