Last Wednesday I started a class at the Scrapbook Pantry called Scrapbook Design 101 with Christy Riopel, I signed up for this class in June! It’s a 6 week class and I was very excited to start.
In week 1 we learned about “intention” and the good ol’ rule of thirds which amazes me that for some reason I just can’t grasp this concept…so I’m learning, hey, maybe my photography will improve after this class too!
After the class is over we have a $10 in store credit, so we take whichever pics we went to use for this week’s homework and go shopping! It’s hard for me, I’m use to just buying paper as I go along, whatever I like, this time we are taking our pics and finding paper to go with our pics…challenging!
Than we go home and we have 1 week to complete that week’s assignment which took me alot longer than I had anticipated, once you actually sit down and apply all the “rules” it’s alot harder than you think!
I’m hoping to improve on my scrapbooking style by taking this class and I’m looking forward to learning lots from Christy in the coming weeks, she just oozes talent & creativity.
Here’s my Week 1 homework assignment (yes, that’s right we have HOMEWORK!!! every week)
I colored the chipboard letters with my copic markers, the heart too but, it looks darker in this picture (it is red) than put some glassy accents on the heart & sprinkled with pixie dust.
Vintage ribbon by Melissa Frances & used my Stampin’ Up! heart punch to punch out the hearts, I colored the heart in with my copics, the heart was originally pink.
I flipped this chipboard frame over & colored it with my copics & than painted shimmerz paint on it, the other side has a black & white damask pattern.

I saw this at the store today IRL, and it is fab! I love what you did. I didn’t realize that you recolored so much of it with copics – great job!
